Cant Send Attachments Aol Solutions Files Email
You may not be able to send attachments for any one of several reasons. After trying the first solution, check to see if you can send attachments. If you are still unable to send attachments, continue using the suggested solutions until the problem is fixed. Close the Program With the Attached File OpenIf you want to send a file as an attachment in an e-mail, the file must not be open in any other program. To close the program with the attachment open: Save any changes, close the application in which the file was opened, then try to send your e-mail again. Allow Pictures and Files in Mail ControlsE-mail cannot be sent with embedded pictures or attached files if the screen name is blocked from receiving pictures and files in e-mail. To allow files in mail controls: 1. Go to AOL Keyword: Spam Controls. 2. Click the Controls for: drop-down menu to open it, select the screen name whose Mail Controls you wish to adjust from the list, then click. 3. Next to Content Filter:, click the Edit link. 4. Click the Block messages containing pictures or files box to clear it. Scan the Attachment for VirusesThe AOL E-mail Virus Scan service automatically scans all e-mail attachments and attempts to repair infected files. To scan the attachment for viruses: Send the file as you normally would, then as the file is uploaded the virus scan will occur automatically. If there is a problem found you will receive one of the following messages: * Virus Repaired: Click the OK button to continue uploading the attached files. * Unrepairable Virus Detected: Click the OK button to proceed to the Write Mail window, then detach the infected files. * Unable to scan attachment: Click the OK button to continue uploading the attached files. Compress AttachmentsIf the Attachments Are Any of These File Types: .scr, .com, .msi, .bat, .pif , .vbs, .cpl, or .cmd, compressing these files might help in sending them. You may have a valid need of your own to send (virus/spyware-free) files of these types in an e-mail. To prevent the attachment from being removed automatically, please compress the files before sending them. To do this, you can use a third party compression program, such as WinZip, or you can attach multiple files to the e-mail, which will cause the AOL software to automatically compress the files.
